With just one week left for BLAST Paris Major, G2 club made this decision.

Recently, G2 Club announced that Swani will remain in the team as the head coach. After XTQZZZ left the team in October last year, Swani urgently took on the coaching role, and six months later, Swani finally became a regular.

During Swani’s coaching period, the G2 team won the 2022 BLAST Premier Global Finals championship and the 2023 IEM Katowitz station championship, and set a record of 13 consecutive wins in offline matches. It was not until the EPL S17 tournament that this record was ended by the Cloud9 team.

Swani briefly played for FURIA Club before joining G2. In August 2019, he joined the G2 team as an analyst and stayed there for four years. After MaLeK left the team in 2021, he also briefly served as a coach, but after XTQZZZ joined the team, he returned to the position of assistant coach.

G2 Announces Swani's Coach Job Confirmation

Last October was a tough month for G2 players, as they failed to advance to IEM Rio Major. After XTQZZZ left, Swani persisted as a team coach until the end of last season. His persistence was rewarded, and G2 successfully advanced to the BLAST Premier Autumn Finals knockout stage, eventually winning the BLAST Premier Global Finals championship trophy.

After the start of the new season, the G2 team participated in the IEM Katowitz station and successfully won the championship, which also elevated the world ranking of the G2 team to first place in early February of this year. The top 1 position of G2 has been maintained for nearly three months, and it was only during the ranking change at the end of April that Heroic pulled G2 off the throne.

For G2, the next test is BLAST Paris Major. In the previous European RMR competition, the G2 team advanced to the Challenger Group through the playoffs 3-1. Their first opponent is Themongolz, and the game will take place on the evening of May 8th at 19:00.
