Previously, players were not allowed to participate, but now they are unable to participate.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Youth Sports has updated the relevant laws on previous national team boycotts of events. Previously, the Government of Ukraine government banned the Ukrainian national team from participating in competitions with Russian and Belarusian players. Now, the government’s ban has been further upgraded.
Ukrainian athletes are not only prohibited from participating, but also subject to physical restrictions. These contestants are no longer able to obtain visas from the government to go abroad, which obviously will greatly affect the Ukrainian esports environment.
Previously, because Monte and B8 members did not return to Ukraine within the specified time, the Government of Ukraine government sent a document to inform the players of the above clubs. However, after the off season, Monte is expected to participate in 2023 IEM Cologne. There are many Russians in this event, so whether the Monte players can go to Germany is still unknown.
