Astralis has just officially announced roster changes: talented player Victor ‘Staehr‘ Staehr from Sprout and former Copenhagen Flames player Johannes ‘b0RUP‘ Borup have joined the team. Lukas ‘gla1ve‘ Rossander and Andreas ‘Xyp9x‘ Højsleth have been benched.
(Andreas Xyp9x Højsleth has been demoted from the youth academy, where he was previously assigned to mentor new players.)
Staehr, who was personally endorsed by device as the “strongest newcomer in Danish CS in five years,” joining the team meant a natural progression for the demotion of gla1ve. The Danish powerhouse will now attempt to find a new home for the veteran, who will be on a hiatus until then.
The departure of this dynasty veteran also signifies that blameF will shoulder the command responsibilities, while b0RUP will fill the void left by newcomer Alexander ‘Altekz’ Givskov, who will return to the youth academy. With Altekz’s return, Xyp9x’s mentoring role in the youth academy has been displaced.
Head coach casle will receive assistance from new coach member R0nic. casle evaluates the two new players in the team as follows:
“I am thrilled that we have reached an agreement with Sprout for the immediate transfer of Staehr; he is undoubtedly one of the most talented prodigies in Danish CS in the past 5 years. It is an open secret that we have had our eyes on him for quite some time, and he perfectly fits the criteria we were looking for in our team. I look forward to working with him and helping him further develop his potential.”
“b0RUP, on the other hand, is someone we are familiar with. Because our system requires specific role positions, he became our choice. I expect him to make a significant contribution to the team. At only 23 years old, he already has a wealth of experience. The five individuals on the roster give me the confidence that the team has found a balance, and we will make a dazzling entrance with explosive energy and strong firepower.”
Regarding the players who have “completed their mission,” the head coach stated:
“I also want to commend the efforts made by Altekz, gla1ve, and Xyp9x during this challenging period. However, despite everyone’s persistent struggles, we were unable to achieve the desired success. Along the way, we saw promising signs and trends, but we also encountered significant setbacks, failing to achieve the level of excellence and consistent results we aimed for. Now, we have the opportunity to bring in two players who align with the required gameplay style. Therefore, it is time to make a change.”
Team A is a partner team of BLAST, and they will make their debut with the new roster in the BLAST Fall Group Stage on July 13th.
