Polish CS Legend NEO Makes Debut as FaZe Coach at IEM Cologne
According to Dust2.us, FaZe has officially registered NEO as their coach for IEM Cologne. Earlier this week, RobbaN unexpectedly stepped down as FaZe’s head coach, ending his seven-year tenure with the organization and leaving FaZe without a coach for their first tournament of the new season.
NEO is no stranger to FaZe, as he joined the team as an in-game leader in 2019 when karrigan was benched. Under his guidance, FaZe came close to winning the championship at BLAST Pro Series Los Angeles 2019. However, NEO’s tenure with FaZe lasted only five months as he departed from the team with the arrival of coldzera and the return of karrigan.
After parting ways with FaZe, NEO focused on developing Polish esports, particularly by creating his own organization, HONORIS, alongside his long-time teammate TaZ. However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, the club ceased operations in March this year, leaving NEO free to join FaZe once again.
During his time with Virtus.pro, NEO achieved numerous championships, most notably the EMS One Katowice Major in 2014. It remains unclear whether NEO’s coaching position with FaZe is temporary or if it will become a permanent role with his involvement.
FaZe has been placed in Group B for the IEM Cologne main event, competing against Vitality, G2, and NAVI.
During IEM Cologne, the FaZe lineup consists of:
Finn Andersen | karrigan
Håvard Nygaard | rain
Helvijs Saukants | broky
Robin Kool | ropz
Russel Van Dulken | Twistzz
Filip Kubski | NEO (coach)
