In recent years, BLAST has become a globally renowned esports event organizer, known for its exceptional production of gaming events. In addition to CS:GO, BLAST has expanded its operations to include event productions for games like Fortnite and Rainbow Six, even becoming an integral part of Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six esports. At the same time, BLAST maintains its position as the second-largest CS:GO event organizer in the industry.
In a recent statement, BLAST announced that they are actively seeking “suitable host cities and partners” to prepare for their 2024 global event schedule. Having started with CS:GO, BLAST has made a mark in Fortnite and Rainbow Six, and their iconic blue triangle can also be seen in other esports titles like Apex Legends and VALORANT.
BLAST’s Chief Commercial Officer, James Woollard, has publicly called on major cities around the world, highlighting the substantial economic impact of BLAST events on host cities, estimated to exceed 22 million euros.
“BLAST has proven its capability to deliver world-class esports events, leaving a tangible impact on host cities and providing fans with exceptional experiences. Host cities can reap significant economic benefits and increase their international exposure through the arrival of esports fans from all over the world, showcasing the city’s various strengths. As we approach 2024, it will be our most ambitious and resource-intensive year yet. We are seeking further opportunities to hold incredible events in the most influential cities.
Our plans include venues capable of accommodating thousands of attendees, with over 60% coming from outside the host city. Previous BLAST events have generated over 22 million euros in economic revenue for host cities. We look forward to collaborating with more cities, bringing our top-notch resources to them, and creating the best esports event experience for global fans.”
Since July of this year, BLAST has already started collaborating with interested cities, seeking suitable locations and partners to host their global events. Previously, BLAST events have left their mark in international cities such as London, Copenhagen, Lisbon, São Paulo, Washington D.C., Abu Dhabi, and more.
