The new season for Team Liquid has been a mix of highs and lows. They started the BLAST Fall season with consecutive wins against G2 and FaZe, which raised expectations. However, they suffered a revenge defeat from karrigan’s team and were later defeated by Astralis, leading them to the showdown stage. In Germany, the new international roster once again faced defeat against device’s team. Although they were on the brink of qualifying after defeating BIG, they once again lost their magic against 9INE, becoming the stepping stone for their opponents in a comeback of one win followed by two consecutive losses.
After the match, Josh ‘oSee‘ Ohm expressed his regrets on Twitter:
“1-2 vs9INE and out of cologne ggs
Lots of work to do to get to the level we wanna be at”
On the other hand, the new team member Robert ‘Patsi‘ Isyanov remains optimistic:
“After all, want to say that finally we have more time to training our stuff and we will be so much stronger. As well we got a lot of thinks that we will talk about. Nothing bad happened so far, see you in Riyadh.”
Most people are surely dissatisfied with Team Liquid’s current performance. Analyst Thorin mocked Patsi’s “optimism”:
“Players really be saying anything nowadays. It’s a performance industry and you wanna live in a fantasy land where 17th place is acceptable? Failed BLAST last week too!”
