This Bosnian player was interviewed by HLTV after defeating Astralis 2-0 in the semi-finals.

huNter feels very confident about his recent strong performance.

G2 is one of the few teams that did not make changes in the BLAST Fall season, despite not performing particularly well in the first half of the year.

In any case, due to their trust in HooXi, the lineup led by him has shown great results at IEM Cologne, and so far, G2’s performance here has been flawless. They just secured a clean 2-0 victory against Astralis, even ending Astralis’ 7-match winning streak on Ancient, and thus, they have entered the Cologne Grand Finals. After a poor showing in the BLAST Fall group stage, G2’s form has visibly improved, boosting the confidence of this international squad.

“(Doubts and worries) are all in the past, we don’t think about those bad matches anymore, we are playing well now. We performed well in the group stage and today too, so I hope we can maintain this form tomorrow,” huNter said after eliminating Astralis.

“All those things are in the past for us. Winning Katowice, winning BLAST World Finals, losing many matches, all of that is in the past. What we need to do is look ahead to the future and see what we can do.”

Although G2 seems unstoppable in this tournament, huNter emphasizes the importance of maintaining consistency in their performance to continuously improve.

“When we were performing well before, we weren’t working as hard. Now, we need to be on the same page,” he said. “I hope we can be as consistent as possible, rather than being strong one moment and weak the next, you know?”

“If we stay consistent, we have a real chance to become the world’s best team again, that’s our goal, and that’s why we believe in this lineup. Peca (G2’s manager) mentioned this in the HLTV Confirmed podcast before the playoffs. We trust each other, and it feels really good in this team, both in-game and out of it, the chemistry is great.”

The key to G2’s consecutive victories in Cologne lies in the recovery of huNter’s form. This Bosnian player is among the top five players in the IEM Cologne rating, and his teammates NiKo and m0NESY are also on that list — the result of their hard work and practice.

“I feel good in this tournament, and so far, I’ve been doing well, which helps boost my confidence. I’m well aware of how important it is for the team when I’m in good form, as we already have NiKo and m0NESY, who are consistent performers.”

“jks is doing his job, and if HooXi’s calls are good, there won’t be any issues. I’m glad to see that because, for me, the period when I practiced the most was also the time when my form was at its worst, which was around IEM Dallas. But every work you put in will eventually pay off, so I need to be patient and continue doing my job well.”

huNter will face Maden in the Grand Finals on Sunday.

Although G2 seems to have victory in the bag, just like in Katowice, huNter says this Grand Finals will not be easy. They will be up against the fellow international team ENCE, who have remained undefeated in Cologne and have had explosive performances from their star players, SunPayus and NertZ, on German soil.

“ENCE has been doing really well recently. They won IEM Dallas and are undefeated in Cologne, they have been consistently performing well and have equally outstanding players.”

This Finals means even more to huNter as he will be competing against Maden from the same region.

“I’ve talked a lot with Maden. NiKo has been playing FACEIT with him lately, and sometimes I play with them too. When we chat, we both wish each other the best. When ENCE plays, we cheer for him, and when we play, he cheers for us, so hopefully, it will be like that!”

“We chat often, and I hope that one day in the future, we could play together in the same team. Who knows if that will happen? Tomorrow morning during breakfast, I will wish him good luck in our language.”
