IESF (International Esports Federation) has disclosed the details of this vote.
Previously, IESF had stated that Russian teams would be allowed to compete under their own national flag and citizenship, a decision that had sparked discontent among several countries, notably represented by UESF from Ukraine.
During the IESF World Championship finals on August 28th, a meeting involving IESF’s 110 members took place, covering a total of 44 agenda items. The Russian representatives proposed that Russian players should be allowed to compete under their own national flag and citizenship starting next year.
Regarding this proposal, a total of 70 representatives were present and conducted a vote. Out of these, 32 voted in favor, while 25 abstained. As a result, the resolution was passed. However, following this, the Ukrainian representatives from UESF expressed strong dissatisfaction and declared their intention to boycott future IESF events. Additionally, the Ukrainian team withdrew from the ongoing IESF tournament.
