Recently, some users have conducted FPS tests on the newly released Overpass map in CS2, and the results show that the FPS in the new Overpass has dropped by 60% compared to the performance in the CS:GO engine.
According to one user’s test, the average FPS on Overpass in the CS2 engine is only 390, while in the same settings conditions, the average FPS on Overpass in CS:GO is 724. The user pointed out that the FPS performance is also closely related to computer configuration and settings, and with higher configurations, the performance may improve. In this user’s test, they used an Intel Core i5-12400F CPU, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660TI OC GPU, a resolution of 1280×960, and most settings were set to low.
Furthermore, the user also mentioned that Valve is actively optimizing some maps. After an upgrade in July, the FPS performance on Dust2 improved by 8 percentage points compared to the earliest version.
